Carr Impala 1X12 Combo
The Impala is loosely based on the venerable Blackface Bassman circuit, but with all the expected Carr twists and improvements. It starts off with a great early 60's American clean tone at lower volumes. Not super clean and somewhat sterile like a Twin, but rather thick and warm like a true Bassman of the day. Turning the volume up little by little introduces a thick and aggressive overdrive reminiscent of early Marshall amps. After all, they were based on the Bassman circuits, but you probably knew that already.
The Impala's Master works quite well in conjunction the Volume, and together they allow you tremendous amount of control of the thickness and overall volume levels. Even with the 44-Watt power rating, it's still easy to get nice, saturated overdriven tones at lower volumes.
